Just released and out in the world...The National Parks Coloring Book! I wanted these images to be fun for kids to color so I focused on the animals and one, two or three of some of the most common plants or wildflowers you will find at each park against a backdrop of the landscape or an iconic landmark. It's woodcut inspired artwork with lot's of lines where shadows would be found. I love the way this looks when colored and I think it really helps to give a visual guide to the colorer. It's something a little different than what you would you might normally find in coloring book artwork that features landscapes. It was really, really fun to illustrate in this style. I hope it inspires some families out there on their summer travels to our beautiful National Parks!
Below are some sample pages from the book. There are 24 parks featured. I wish I could have done them all (58!) but the drawing was pretty involved so I limited to the big parks of the west and then a representing some of the ones in the south and eastern United States. If this book sells well I will definitely do a volume 2 with the rest of the parks.
