I'm happy to announce my newest book, Uncommonly cute Animals Coloring Book!
This book was really a joy to illustrate. I was inspired by seeing a picture of the Axolotl which is a very cute amphibian that lives only in the waters in Lake Xolchmilco and Lake Chalco in the valley of Mexico. This little creature captured the interest of the internet a while back and has been circulating. From there I started to research all of the "cutest" animals that I could find. There are, of course, thousands (millions?) more that are just as cute and unusual but these were the ones that stood out in various lists I could find. The illustrations are simple yet realistic with easy-to-color backgrounds. I don't love it when the backgrounds are too complicated for kids. It's a bother for them to get that all colored in. The focus is on the animal and should not be too difficult. Kids will have to look up the colors of animals (if they wish) but I think this is sort of a bonus because they will find more information about it if they are curious. I have included a small amount of information such as where the animal is found and any other pertinent tidbits. Also this is my first book with full page images (lines go off of the edge of the page). I like the effect for this book. It makes for a bigger image on each page which is fun for kids, I think. Also the line is a soft weight (kind of like a thick charcoal pencil) with the outline of the animal fairly bold. I hope this book sparks curiosity and joy for kids of all ages who love animals! Happy Coloring Friends! Comments are closed.
